This is my halloween costume this year. ^^ The pictures are from a costume party I went to on the 27th. The character is from Soul Calibur III, and you can see a picture of her here:

I worked on the costume on and off through September and October, but mainly in the last two weeks of October. ;; I made the top, but my mom made the sleeves for me. She also altered the pants, which were store-bought, white, and rode much higher on my hips. I cut up and sewed the holes in the sides, though. Mom also helped with the leggings, though I did the shoe part. The craptacular leg armor is cut-up soda bottles covered in duct tape, with leather straps cut from an old purse.

I made the gloves, which is why the fingers ripped after only a few hours of wearing them. ; The feathers were all cut to size and glued one-by-one onto strips of elastic. (Which was a pain, and a mess. Never cut feathers on your bed. >>;; The purple paint is acrylic (mixed from red blue and white), and I painted it on myself. I also did my own makeup and dyed, cut, and styled my own hair.

The weapon is made out of insulation foam bought from home depot. I projected a picture of it onto the foam, then traced it and sawed it out. My dad helped me with shaping the points, and he also cut out the middle section and painted it with white primer. I then painted it grey, with some minimal shading. It broke within five minutes of my showing it to other people, as one boy chose to use it as a hula-hoop. -__-. If I ever make another one, I'm making it out of plastic.

Oh, and since you're probably wondering: the stop stays where it needs to with liquid latex. It works better than most glues and held strong the whole time I was at the party, no matter how much i lifted my arms. ^_-
