This picture was drawn long before Twilight Princess came out. The rumor was that the new game was based on a manga that was based on the 80's movie Ladyhawke. (1985 was a good year. ^_-) To sum it up, it had some guy who turned into a wolf at sunset, and Michelle Pfeiffer as his lady who turned into a hawk at sunrise. The trailers for the Zelda game, with a wolf!Link and a hooded!Zelda (and a bird of prey) were suspiciously similar.

Now that the game's come out, everyone is saying, "SEE YOU'RE WRONG!" ....To them I say, "CHILL OUT!" ^^; The game might've been based on the manga and then was later changed. The manga might've just been inspiration. Or it may not have been based on anything at all. But as the saying goes, "There are no original ideas."

...And c'mon, people, it's FANART. ^^;

So don't analyze the picture. Don't worry if it has anything to do with the plot, whether it's accurate or not, or what the game was or wasn't based on. It doesn't matter. Just enjoy the picture for the colors, the composition, the style, the emotion, and the idea.

It was just for fun. ^^;

those light effects are wonderful, they give a very warm feeling and really make you feel as if you were out in the open, watching the sun rise X3
The hawk? I thought they had already said that even though there was a hawk it was no Zelda (in the thrailers they showed of the game it showed the hawk way before you even meet Zelda, in the real world), that even if Link turned into a wolf the story had nothing to do with that Japanese tale.

That's wrong, they did not rip off LadyHawke. The wolf is used because the makers felt that a wolf was the best example of a mystical figure in the animal kingdom.

She's GOT to be; it's way too similar. Point one, Link turns into a wolf at nighttime. Point two, yes, we see a hawk during the daytime. Point three, Zelda ALWAYS has a secret identity nowadays. Add that in to the Ladyhawke rumor. ....And most strikingly, point four: The first time we Zelda, she's in the black cape, mostly obscured. She turns, and the most striking thing is her blue eyes. We'll see in a few months. I stand by my argument. And I quote IGN: "Apparently Twilight Princess was the name of a Japanese manga inspired by the movie Ladyhawke, whose main characters -- a knight and his love -- turn into a wolf and a hawk respectively."

Oh! I love it! wow! are they seriously going to FINALLY make linkXZelda action in the vidogame? and not just "oh poor link! i'm sorry i put this burden on you -self loathe-" zelda in it?! Oh that would totally make me like zelda more! I hope theirs no vocals for link in this one. Seriously, if it turns out like final fantisy X, oh god... by the time that game was over i wanted to punch Tidus. ha ha... that whiny ass.

XD FFX was a hoot. I was certainly yelling at Tidus a lot. Ususally things like, "BE MORE LIKE AURON, DAMMIT." XD But I think Yuna annoyed me more. ...And Rikku. >>;;;; Talk about whiney.

But I totally agree with you. No vocals means no bad voice-acting. And playing as Zelda would be tons of fun! (Andaddsmoresupporttotheladyhawkeclaim,isay.) Zelda's always been pretty cool, as far as videogame wenches go. At least she's not, like, Peach. XD
